The rules are simple. There is a designated throwing line that you must release your throw behind and your throw is then marked at the first contact with the ground. You are competing to have the longest throw. Each round consists of 5 throws in a given time period. Your longest throw in each round is your mark for that round. You must compete with PDGA approved discs.

The schedule should be as follows and can change pending weather conditions and number of entries:

*** THERE IS A MAXIMUM NUMBER OF 40 PLAYERS/SPECTATORS THAT THE EVENT CAN ACCEPT. PLEASE EMAIL ME IF YOU INTEND TO COME OUT AND WATCH THE EVENT AS OUR PERMIT ALLOWS FOR A MAXIMUM OF 40 PEOPLE ON THE LAKE BED AT ANY ONE TIME! IF YOU DO NOT LET ME KNOW VIA EMAIL YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO GO TO THE EVENT SITE***

All competitors will throw 3 rounds on Saturday. Saturday night there will be a cut based on your total for the first 3 rounds. The top 12 open men, top 6 master’s men, top 4 women and all juniors and grand masters will compete on Sunday for the WFDF World Champion titles and one person will be crowned the Big D in the Desert Champion.

Sundays competition should be as follows: everyone that made the cut from Saturday will throw one round and then we will cut the field based on Sunday’s first round top throws (longest throw for each competitor) to the top 8 open men, 4 masters men, 4 women and anyone who is challenging a WFDF world record for their age group and they are within 10% of that record mark with one of the earlier round throws. Examples, a 55 year old man has thrown 155 meters and the record for his age division is 168 meters or a an 11 year old boy has thrown 135 meters and the record for his age division is 147.6 meters. You can see all age division records at this link: http://wfdf.org/index.php?page=records/index.htm#distance

The second round on Sunday is the semi finals. Once this round is complete the field will be cut again to the top 4 open men, 2 master’s men and the top 2 women. The age division challengers will not have a final round on Sunday.

The third and final round on Sunday will produce the WFDF World Distance Champions and Big D in the Desert overall Champion!

Monday April 7 th will be an all out assault on the WFDF world records. Everyone that is on site to compete will get 3 rounds of throws to break their age division record.

Entry fees for the entire 3 day event are $30 per contestant. $10 of this fee is the WFDF fee for sanctioning the event. WFDF will be providing medals to the top 3 overall finishers.
